Students at the University of Texas established this journal to provide a medium through which students may publish their research. By publishing the works of undergraduates and graduates side by side, we hope to encourage further intellectual exchange and build upon the existing body of research into the region. We open the Student Journal of Latin American Studies to students from all backgrounds and majors to gain a diversity of perspectives and create a more dynamic Journal.
